Sirsa News: Mental Health Support Center Established at CMK National College
Sirsa : A Mental Health Support Center has been established at CMK National Postgraduate College with the aim of addressing students' mental health, fostering positive thinking, facilitating personal dialogue, and aiding in problem resolution. The college administration announced that this center would be made operational for students very shortly. The college Principal, Anshu Uppal, stated that in the current times, awareness regarding students' mental health has become absolutely essential.
With this in mind, a specialized support center has been set up within the college campus, where students will be provided with counseling, guidance, and a positive environment. She added that, with the assistance of trained experts and faculty members, students' concerns will be heard confidentially at the center, and appropriate solutions will be provided. This initiative is expected to prove instrumental in helping students overcome issues such as stress, depression, anxiety, and the fear associated with examination results. Furthermore, workshops, motivational lectures, music therapy sessions, yoga classes, and awareness programs will be organized periodically to foster self-confidence, positive thinking, and life skills among the students.
The Principal remarked that, in today's era, the excessive use of mobile phones and social media is having a detrimental effect on the mental health of the youth. Due to spending an inordinate amount of time in the virtual world, young people are becoming increasingly disconnected from real life, family interactions, and social relationships, leading to heightened stress and mental pressure.
Both the faculty and the students have welcomed this initiative, describing it as a necessity of the times. The students expressed their belief that such support centers would play a pivotal role in mentally strengthening the youth. The college administration has appealed to the students to reach out to the support center without hesitation in the event of any mental stress or personal difficulty, and to take a proactive step toward leading a healthy and positive life.
